Ofcom's Cap on 118 Charges

CAP ON 118 charges

From 1st April this year, there is to be tighter regulation on the use of 118 numbers - the telephone numbers used exclusively for directory enquiry (DQ) services.

Ofcom's full review is available herebut in summary, Ofcom are imposing a price cap on the amount DQ providers can charge, of £3.65 (inc. VAT), per 90 seconds.  It is hoped that the new cap will reduce bill shock and improve the affordability of DQ services.
